keep in mind that the mindcraft worlds are really inefficient, and store 10s of thousands of files for even small worlds. The creative server is like millions of files.
Copying my 30meg world took alot longer than copying 30meg

Yeah it's slow as hell. Only on my small unexplored test world it's something like 1300 files. This took around a minute to copy when the files weren't cached (faster the second time when they were)

As I said, it's not that hard if you have some basic knowledge, if you check the file you'll see it's only a couple of lines in it
Still took a couple of hours though, just to make sure everything works as it's supposed to.

I'm running it on the boys machine, adn it seems to be working - as you mentioned it takes a bit of resource, so he is only running it after he finishes playing.

The saves are there - though i have not yet restored one.
