Not saying that we should change to this, but if we get stuck, it might be a handy stop-gap. (since we were using hmod before)

hMod releases

I haven't tried it to see if it works, but I've read that it does.

Thanks. I am aware of this one, but I have more faith in Bukkit. Mind you, the latest version of Bukkit crashed most Bukkit mods, which is why I doubt we will be updating any earlier than we need to (and why ours haven't crashed). Most of the mods we are testing are doing what we need adequately. My main concern is whether their inclusion hampers your playing in anyway, particularly due to lag or crashes. I have seen a bit of both, hence my concerns.

ps. Some updating of mods might be the solution but I'm afraid I will just need time to test that.

How about creating a secondary test survival server without bukkit on another port? Then people like Bazz could try it and see if it lags in a similar fasion to the main test survival server. If it does, it has something to do with the connection, if it doesn't it's bukkit.

I'm pretty sure the new bukkit mods add some lag. On the creative server there are definitely more lag spikes than there were on the old, much larger, creative server map.

The only thing I would say about that, mind you, is that the base server has changed since then so it is hard to tell what could be causing the extra lag.

This is an excellent point and I agree 100% - On the original creative server, I hardly ever had any lag at all.

Those tnt in my pocket was burning a hole...so I went ahead and tried it on the glass wall

I can confirm yes you can't walk through it.
Also that the wall does not replace it self after being destroyed like it does if you try to break it with a pick.

Made a small pile of 12 tnt was pretty cool was a 1 block wide space along the wall (maybe 8x4x1) with a 2x1 tunnel going into it.

Blew up good

You are dangerous Misnik

I suspect that the mod has problems because it must only replace the border blocks when it is directly a player's actions that affect them. It must not consider creepers or tnt to be player's actions. I am sure that will be fixed in the near future. At least the border still works so that sneaky people can't break TOG rules and misuse game bugs to their advantage.

also I went exploring by boat and wondered why it was bugging out, jumped out of the boat to find I was beyond the border.. I was thrown back "inside" (my boat wasn't, doh) and half the glass wall generated, but half (in my view) didn't.... and I went sailing some more and again, the wall didn't generate...
