Default SMP and Lapis

Hi,
right now, on SMP, the only place to get Lapis (and thus blue dye) is in areas that were not explored before Lapis was added (the whole 16 x 16 chunk is generated once it is loaded for the first time).

We have no way of knowing which chunks are new, so no idea where to start mining. As Lapis is rare this is a bit of a time wasting issue. Any thoughts on how to solve this?
Cheers,
C.

You need to go looking for a place where the new trees have generated (the ones with white trunks) - that's the easiest way to know if you're in a newly generated chunk

I headed off for one of the corners, as the border had been extended, its guaranteed new ground.
