Default Portal gun mod

So I've had a little play with the mod - seems to be working nicely - [V1.3_01] Portal Gun [v4] - No fall damage, reset portals! - Minecraft Forums

and something funny.... you can portal animals pop a portal on a high cliff or something, and then pop one on the ground infront of a sheep, and watch it come tumbling through!

You can't place them on glass or underwater though

dunno... it would be the same as warping then (for all those who hate the idea of warps).... you could pop one portal at your home, and then just keep relocating the other end as you go so you have a quick out.

They shoot a long distance too, which is neat.... you can save a lot of walking

Imagine the scene.

Your enemy Sir Sneezy hides within his castle. From afar you can see him jumping up and down, teasing you, feeling safe behind his obsidian walls and wide lava moat. Little does he know that you have a secret weapon. You fire your portal gun at the inside wall behind Sir Sneezy and the other into the ground on the slope below you. Now you have to decide - do you go in and battle him hand-to-hand.... or do you prime and lob a few tnt blocks through the portal? The drop down the slope should give them some momentum.....

What?
TNT of course!
Sir Sneezy is blown up and must walk back from spawn in shame, whilst you revel in bothering his sheep, and making toilet in his halls!

(That wasn't obvious to you?! - sheesh Sor, Pick up your game!)

On a serious note, I thought we could replicate existing tech in SMP? (say like GPS etc)
Wheres the problem?

well it doesn't work for SMP, so the point is moot.... but being able to portal is completely different from having a warp marker available as a GPS that you have to manually walk to the destination

Lol - sorry Obsi - I was making a (obviously bad!) joke - you know existing tech / portal guns - not really existing etc etc...

Sigh.
(Ever notice how having to explain a joke is a good indicator that you should never have attempted making it?)
