Default Quick Tip

Don't dig into lava inside your wooden home.
Actually surprised the chest and few random wood blocks survived.
The nearby trees sure didn't!

Sorry again to hear about this. As I said earlier, I do fear the incoming weather patch with my current addiction to 'temperamental materials'.

Nice sign btw.

Yeah, that is exactly why I built it inside a hill as a natural protection against lightning.
Too bad it doesn't save me from the other force of nature.

I feel your pain - after recently loosing an airship, I also am aware of the lava V wood debacle!

If I might make a suggestion? - I found having a big sook of endless benefit!

I also lost a lot of work on a wood building. The foundation and windows still are there. Haven't had the heart to try to rebuild that one.

I had a small mishap when trying to build my spa on creative - I thought a lava pit would make a nice "heatsource" for the sauna - completely forgetting that lava inside a wooden room is not a good idea. Luckily it was cut out of a mountain and the fire wasn't able to spread throughout the complex. Just enough to make me stand there, amid the flames going "doh' of course!"

I managed to burn down my airship in Creative. So I had to spend the next week rebuilding it based on the screenshots I had already taken and which bits had not been destroyed.

The lessons I learnt were:
1) Don't keep firelighters in your inventory
2) Take screenshots during construction, not just afterwards

I think that the Survival server is living up to its name :/
Sorry to hear another airship lit up the sky. We have to stop using hydrogen.

Or stop using lava and wood within the same chunk.... that might work.
