A night of lava education...
FYI - Just because the wood in your house is not directly next to your new lava fountain, does NOT mean it won’t burn up!!
Last night was epic. My wife had gone to bed, and my younger daughter was sitting with me watching as I attempted to add a gigantic lava waterfall inside my home. I told her of the dangers, and she was excited but scared. She kept telling me “NO Dad, don’t do it, don’t burn your house down”.
I assured her I knew what I was doing, and proceeded. I dropped the bucket of lava from my high roof, then ran downstairs to see my handiwork. It’s working! She was overjoyed with the success….
Then I heard something overhead that sounded like fire…. I looked up to see my roof on fire!!! This is the best part.
My daughter started screaming at the top of her lungs, running upstairs to get her older sister (who was playing minecraft on the kids server I set up). She woke up our newborn baby and my wife. My wife yelled down, “why are you screaming” and she yelled loudly “Don’t you want to see dad’s house burn to the ground!!”.
I lost about half the house before the blaze stopped, but we had a blast, so no harm done. I rebuilt the home pretty quickly and made a few adjustments to the area around the lava J
Gaming can be a fun family activity! My wife didn’t think so last night though.
Unfortunately, I was too frantic to get pictures or video… I wish I had.
