Exclamation A Survey of the Minecraft Division

Since we started as a Division last year, the Minecraft game has changed in many ways, as has the Division and how we play it. This survey is designed so as to give the Admin crew an idea of how you play and what direction you would like the Division to go. This is not a poll.

For those who find the survey to be too long, I will add a quick-and-sweet mini survey in another thread (but this one gives more options and will help us more, so please complete it).

So tell us what you want. You can answer the survey in this thread or PM me. I am happy to hear from Toggers who aren't playing Minecraft much these days. For most of the survey, you just need to tick boxes ([x]), so it should only take about 5-10 minutes to complete. If you wish to say more about any of your choices (e.g. when you choose 'other'), please do.

The Adventure update

The Adventure update is a good time to potentially make some major changes to the worlds we are playing on. Many new geographical features have been added to the game code since our worlds were started. However, they only appear on new, unexplored chunks, which makes them inaccessible in much of the worlds (and players are never sure which chunks are new or old). This will get worse when the Adventure update is released. Also, some space is congested on the existing worlds, partially by constructions made by people who no longer play.

Which of the following do you think is a sensible option? (one or more)

[] start a new Survival world (replacing the existing one)
[] extend the borders of the Survival world

[ I enjoy the idea that someone else can actually see these buildings, rather than only myself. Its also interesting to work into or around someones project giving things a more organic feel then only pure building for building sake. ]

- I'm not against mods per say, but like quick updates. My first choice would same or even a little less if possible. The current suite seems good overall actually. I am curious about some of them like creatures and axles etc. The rest don't seem exciting to me tbh.

[X ] I prefer multiplayer until the game upgrades. It seems to take our server much longer than others to upgrade to the latest versions so I tend to play single-player during these times or drift off to other multiplayer servers that run the latest versions.

The Adventure update

The Adventure update is a good time to potentially make some major changes to the worlds we are playing on. Many new geographical features have been added to the game code since our worlds were started. However, they only appear on new, unexplored chunks, which makes them inaccessible in much of the worlds (and players are never sure which chunks are new or old). This will get worse when the Adventure update is released. Also, some space is congested on the existing worlds, partially by constructions made by people who no longer play.

Which of the following do you think is a sensible option? (one or more)

[X] start a new Creative world (replacing the existing one)
[X] start a new Survival world (replacing the existing one)
[] extend the borders of the Survival world
[X] use the existing Survival world as the Creative world, and start a new Survival world on the Survival server
[] keep the existing worlds as is
[X] other: It would be good if players could bring across a 'treasure chest' when the new server starts with materials etc they have built-up in the current server. Just to get started.
If the Factions mod or similar (with PvP turned off) could be used then people could lay their own claims for land without problems.
