Default The Yogscast

I know we have a video thread, but I thought we should have one just for Yogscast videos, because there are so many, and they are awesome and I'm going to start posting new ones.

They have been doing some minecraft Olympics recently, which have some interesting ideas for things that could be done on our own server for entertainment... so it's worth checking out

(there are more parts available to the Olympics series)

You can find a whole bunch of videos on their youtube channel BlueXephos's Channel - YouTube

If you're not familiar with them - they do videos on mods and things, but also they do downloaded adventure style maps, which can be really entertaining

Some videos are of roleplaying challenges set up for them by friends (eg. The Shadow of Isphrael videos). These tend to include the friends playing NPCs like Old Peculier and Skylord Lysander. [3]

Others are just maps and mods they have downloaded. So beware of spoilers if they are trying someone-else's challenge map and you want to try it yourself....[1]

[1] For instance knowing the codes and clues you need to open doors [2]
[2] Though it is very comical sometimes watching these two getting through the challenges
[3] The following is their first Minecraft video:

Beware of that link that Sorontar gave. I watched it once, then I lost a week of productivity as I watched though all of the rest of their videos. I think the Olympics one is safe though.

I always picture Simon as the dark-haired hairy biker

Yogs rock.

This though was what I had in mind for nights where we could sub the creative world for a "One Night Only" map - imagine a night of taking on your fellow toggers in that Olympic challenge?

I think Sor posted this option in the recent poll?

Yep, this is the sort of thing I was thinking of. Though there is nothing stopping people setting up a TOG sporting arena. After all, we have already started with a couple of golf courses, a rugby field and who knows what else.

I haven't checked if the olympic map is downloadable (I imagine it is) - we could easily divide into 2 teams and have one player from each team do one event...

The Yogcast guys, Simon and Lewis, will be going to Minecon (MineCon speakers: The Yogscast). Their reports and events should be .... interesting.
