Yeah, by "there" I meant, on this server, world 4. I'll probably play there even if I dislike some aspects of it - as I suspect most people will, even if just to give 1.9 a go.

Yep, and given that it'll be a new seed, keeping the location is pretty pointless. Also it will force the boundaries of the world immediately.

Not sure what you mean by the boundaries of the world. As we will have no working mods, there will be no formalised boundaries, but if players are spread out around the world when it is created, and they don't know where spawn is, I guess they will go in every direction, adding to the size of the world. I hadn't thought of that.

Of course, we could make it a rule that all players will be provided with the coords of spawn and must (try to) make their way back to spawn before they build. That would add to the challenge After all, you will have your inventory with you as supplies.

The main issue I can see with players keeping the same location, is that not all of the world safe.... what if you were standing in a nice safe field before the world was reset and those co-ords are now in a pit of lava in the new seed.... Or if you were underground in a cave, and that's now the bottom of an ocean.

That ontop of the spawn issue.... means I don't think it's a very practical option at all

I vote yes with new seed. I like the idea of starting fresh all the time, gives you the grand aspect of your alone in the world and out to survive - and what will you do this time?

I very much doubt I'm going to play on this temp server, I'm a builder type, not explorer type so having my creations razed every other week does not appeal to me. Therefore I'll refrain from voting and wait until the real frontier server arrives.
