You can always alter the landscape around your place... you can build your castle on the plains then alter the plains to become a cliff face
Or build on the mountains and alter the cliff to become (Notch's) face.

Or just craft tnt and blow it to pieces and crash the server.

An idea, Keep this world as is (updating as usual without wiping, no mods etc)
Start frontier when ready and then run the three servers at the same time (frontier, world4 & creative)
People can choose

Does this sound OK resource wise EXE?
(I've just realised that I've inadvertently raised the "wild west" topic again... gulp!)

As I said, we are discussing the pros and cons of various possibilities in the Admin forum. Things like your suggestion are being considered. However, until we get 1.9 we won't be totally sure what options and limitations we will have. That makes any suggestions a little hard to nail down. Remember back in the distant past before 1.8 and what we thought was Minecraft then....

3 worlds seems like too much community fragmentation to me as well. Keep that in mind. I enjoy multiplayer much more, cos there are people to play with.

I'll say what I damn well please, thankyou very much!

I do agree that it is a disadvantage for players who have been waiting for the full release before upgrading their client to come into a world that has already been worked on.

At the moment it is a lot of fun establishing our areas and having new neighbours arriving close by. To me this is the most fun part of playing MineCraft. I'm looking forward to this phase again when we get the release version. Exploring and building with others is so much better than just building away on your own - at least for me it is.

And last night's expedition to rescue Gersh was a hoot.

It was great fun... then off to the NPC village to explore the abandoned mine... where I died due too many Zombies, Creepers and Cave Spiders

Why do I suddenly see a group of four Minecraft characters stuffed into a black minecart with a red strip on the side, hurtling down a railtrack into the depths of a mine (which is probably totally the wrong place to go, but it all works out in the end).
