I am toooooooo excited about my Catholic (denomination chosen) Cathedral to have my creativity STOPPED!!!! like this I have tried re-connecting over 100 times .... yeah login servers went down. The 5 people who were logged in would have been fine... until Sor restarted the server. (if they were still logged in).
Begs the question as to what happens to minecraft if the login servers stay down...? I suppose a mod can fix that easily enough.

it is possible to turn login authentication off for each specific server (means they don't require the game to authenticate b4 being accepted to login tot hat specfic game server), the details are in the thread i linked.

I think it would be safe if the whitelist thing you have in place would still work as any unauthenticated people wouldn't get in anyhow due to that.
If the whitelist stops working when you turn that off it might b an issue however.
