A warning read on Reddit (http://www.theoldergamers.com/forum/...uganort.html):

Quote:
I had of stuff in an ender chest in my single player world, and it all disappeared when I died in the end. Is this normal?

jeb_ Yeah I had a brainfart when I changed the ender chests. I forgot that players are re-created when they die or leave The End, and I had stored the personal inventory in the player...
Will be fixed for the next snapshot.

  • The multi-player menu now scans for LAN servers (single-player worlds)
  • Villagers will remove trade options after the option has been used 3-15 times
  • Added wooden stairs for the remaining three wood types
  • Corrected Ender Chest storage (no longer wiped on respawning)

A little warning though, Dinnerbone said that in the next snapshot, mobs will be able to spawn on inverted stairs and inverted half slabs. He has just made redstone, rails and doors work on top of those blocks. Hopefully he won't make mobs spawn on normal stairs and normal half slabs. That would make a lot of the MC community irate.

It also states that they "have finally decided to lock down on a proper release date for Minecraft 1.3: August 1, 2012."

Latest snapshot (http://www.mojang.com/2012/07/mincraft-snapshot-12w30a/):
Quote:
We’re getting really close to the 1.3 release now, and need to check that everything runs as expected. The plan is to release one or two snapshots, and then the 1.3 pre-release by Wednesday or Thursday. The pre-release is intended to be identical to the official release next week, in order to give modmakers and server admins a week’s head start. That’s why we need to do a snapshot first, since we can’t do changes to the update after the pre-release is out.
This snapshot consists of all the bugfixes that Nathan (@dinnerbone) and Eric (@_grum) have been working on the last two weeks.

Another pre 1.3 snapshot (http://www.mojang.com/2012/07/minecraft-snapshot-12w30c/):
changes:
  • Fixed piston block animation bug
  • Fixed rain particles in certain biomes
  • Fixes for a few uncommon crashes
  • Fixes for minor text bugs, and portal placement
Quote:
It looks like teleporting dragon eggs are broken in 30c. Don't right click one or it might just turn into lava. ... No, I'm serious.

They're still coming this week (http://www.mojang.com/2012/07/minecr...shot-12w30d/):
Quote:
We found one serious bug yesterday and also did two game-play changes, so we need to do another snapshot before we can pre-release 1.3.
  • Corrected Ender Dragon Egg teleportation
  • Added rotatable log blocks
  • Strongly decreased the amount of enchantment orbs you get from furnaces
Updated snapshot to 12w30e because cocoa plants were not placeable on sideways jungle logs, and the survival inventory in creative mode was completely messed up.

This week, Mojang is working on two tracks of Minecraft for the PC. The first is development for 1.4 and the other is to fix the major bugs in 1.3.1. The snapshot for this week is from the 1.4 track (The Weekly Chunk & Snapshot 12w32a

Main features:
  • Villagers will now react positively on new trades, and negatively if you hurt them
  • Villagers will not remove trades, but trading something else may be required to renew the old ones
  • Zombies and Skeletons have new equipment, depending on difficulty
  • There’s a new kind of Zombie, too
  • Added the “Command Block” intended for adventure maps. It’s not craftable and not in the menu, but its id is 137
  • A suprise block! This block is still work in progress, but will get a crafting recipe later on
