What is your Fav texture pack ?
 

I'm playing around with diffferent higher rez packs at the moment.

What ones do you run ?

I use PureBDcraft 128x. The 256x & 512x lag my computer too much.

I look for the more cartoon/kiddie looks than the realism. I think the cartoon look fits the game better, makes to feel "fun". :)

I tried the photo realistic packs. My preference is very nice looking terrain, stone, grass and water with cartoon style animals/enemies. So will likely take the best elements from a number of different packs and add them to my minecraft.jar file

I like the Mixa HD pack. Been using it for months now.

Funny, I was just about to start a thread like this. :) I hope to try some out soon, but I'm not so sure of the patching process needed for the HD textures. Is that still needed?

The patching is still needed but is actually a good (and very easy) process as it then saves a backup of your MineCraft version. If you ever need to wind back you have the file sitting there ready to go.

LB Photorealism 128x128 is the best one I have ever tried (256x256 is even better but very FPS demanding):

The HD patch only takes a minute, and is just running a single file. I'll post the link up to the HD Patcher tonight unless someone has it handy now.

The only time I have not used this skin was if it was not updated - found it about 2 months in and have not looked back!

A couple of things I particularly like are the way blocks can be used for multiple purposes, and that for terrain blocks, the patterns are simple - with packs like LB's (photo realisim) the detail on an individual block is great - but when you view many of them together, in walls or even natural cliffs, they become a bit to "Patterny" (TM :P)
This avoids that quite nicely.

And it's steampunk themed - who doesent need a little more Victorian Sci Fi in their lives!! ???
