Default What to do around spawn point on Frontier?

Unlike Sanctuary, there are no restrictions on building around the spawn point on Frontier. We started Frontier's spawn off with a couple of buildings and bits of a farm above with a small mine and more farming beneath. However, this can all be altered if you want. What do you think should be done? Another fortress? A moat? A city wall and village? An elevated or floating city? Open land? This is all up to you.

Misnik started to build something. It would be nice to give Misnik a free hand here.

Well I've started my Cube near spawn, and I've decided to make into an apartment building with lots of apartments, 70+ I think.
They will be available to "rent" when done

No set plan, just wanted to protect spawn so made a quick wall, and had to make it look nice.

Am thinking building up and out/over wouldn't be bad.

I had an idea for a type of monster item farm based on a couple ideas, and thought near spawn would be good to make it accessible to everyone for mats. Though that's purely an experiment. the location I picked seems like it will overlap with the community mine, but the design I have in mind actually that might be just fine. Making a giant spiral arm farm. So can easily skip some arms on some levels; also allows it to pass over some paths etc where that occurs.

I have spent most of the day adventuring.

Seems to be a very grassy terrain. Only seen one small desert and no snow so far.
The tree's seem limited to the spawn area too. Very mountainous surroundings though.

Admiral, I might take you up on one of those apartments until I finishes some of my planned projects.

I was thinking about building some roads linking varies places. I can't remember how far they are from spawn point though.

I need to start my quarry somewhere too, should be outside spawn area due to the size.

A warning about the apartments. Admiral is very strict about who he lets in. He has employed a Mr Astley to take care of the front desk and he is rather heavy booted.

Tracked 80% of the map now. I would roughly break it down to:
25% Fields
25% Mountains
20% Water
15% Forest
10% Swamp
5% Desert
0% Snow

And yet again I think I must have found the 20 % of water(1.5 days swimming), after which I hit the boundary on flat territory(albeit with a ravine)
