Well if one REALLY doesn't want snow on ones creation it's just a matter of putting up an obscene amount of torches to melt it away

Seems silly that you cant hid lava in walls, floors etc to melt it off as it lands - I understand it only melts with torches etc, not lava?
(And if you need help with glass ceiling Deep, let me know!)

So its time to download client mods to suit 1.1? Will this also be applied to Frontier at the same time?

Yes.

Don't forget that the only sanctioned client mods within this Division are:
I think there was one other one under consideration that sorted your inventory contents, but I don't know its name. Any other client mod is regarded as cheating if it changes the way in which you play the game whilst on our servers. See the TOG Minecraft Server Code of Conduct (which is in the process of being updated and merged with other stickies).

I only use the water shader, rei's minimap and HD texture packs. Improved chat is way out of date so I didnt bother even trying with that one. Have downloaded them all, now to get some snowy goodness

If you download the Voxel Mod pack, you can choose to install only some of the mods. I get ModLoader, Rei's Minimap, and Improved Chat from this pack. The version of Improved Chat is up-to-date and compatible with 1.1.

I take back what I said about using the Voxel mod pack to get improved chat. Using anything from the Voxel pack on Sanctuary is causing me to CTD whenever I strike an animal.

I tried only installing Rei's Minimap, and then only installing Improved Chat. Same result both times.

EDIT: Which leads me to suspect that it has something to do with ModLoader, since that's the only thing the two setups had in common.
