Mojang's Director of Fun, Lydia Winters (aka Minecraftchick), has announced that they plan to give more regular updates on the Mojang blog about the game, the community and competitions.

For a start, they running a competition to name these blogs and design something to celebrate the success of the XBox editiion of Minecraft. The winners get access codes to the XBox MC. Entrants must use Twitter to enter.

Okay, Mojang has decided to call the weekly announcement a "Weekly Chunk". This week, Lydia has asked people to send pictures of themselves holding "Happy Birthday" messages for Notch's birthday next week, and is running video competition for people to make promotional ads for the new block in the snapshot.
