Default Minecraft .jar Juggler?

Are there any good tools for automating the switching of minecraft versions you're running. Say you want to try a pre-release for example. Is there a tool that will track various minecraft version's you've got and do the appropriate moving/renaming of files so you don't have to do this manually?

A better search of our own forum plus some googling turned up several options. Minecraft Profile Manager appears to be one of the more popular ones. Anyone have experience using it?

I use Magic Launcher.

For me it had more settings and performance tweaks I could do, but like profile manager you can also set up multiple versions/profiles with differnt jars and it makes mod installation too easy.

I know a few, me included that made the switch from profile manager..
Both programs should do what you want and more, have a play and see what you like.
