Default Future plans for TOGlympics world

I am very proud of what we have been able to make in one week for the TOGlympics world. I have always felt that this is a good way to promote TOG and the Division to the worldwide Minecraft community. For this reason, I plan to make the TOGlympics world available to others to download and use within their own communities, probably using Dropbox like our old Creative and Survival worlds (see Our Worlds - servers, maps, claims, downloads).

Of course, this means that we need to do a little tidying up in efforts to make a degree of continuity between events. While we have already done this for route signs and paths, we need to make sure all events are finished enough and have instructions on signboards. The redstone circuits for the podium, flower dispensers in the sky and the circle of glowstone also needs to be improved so that they can be turned on and off properly.

I hope to get this all done in the next few days so I can announce this elsewhere before the Olympics end. For this reason, the TOGlympics world will stay on the 25565 port for a few nights. After that, we will revert back to Sanctuary.

Also, could each event have a large label block sign like that done for Ping Pong and Kayak. A symbol like fencing is cool too. In efforts to not be too big, perhaps the following titles could be used.
  • Dive
  • TNT
  • Golf
  • Fencing
  • Archery
  • Skeet
  • Swim
  • Rowing
  • Hockey
  • Hunt
  • Blockit
  • Run (for Marathon)
I suggest trying to make them visible from their blue path entrance.

Added "Fencing" label to the building. Also added dispenser instead of chests with swords with knockback lol. Oh and made a viewing platform for high diving.

If i need to change them or add anything for public release just let me know

Would be good to clean up and restock game chests/dispensers before the public map release too.

I added fresh bows / arrows / rods / bowls and some more snowballs.

Yes, we will have to fill the chests.

Added signs for TNT, Golf, Swim, Shot, Row. Tidied up paths and started covering up the golf from snow (so water stays water when we want it to be). Fix circuit for glowstone animation (now turns itself off properly).

Still need signs for Hockey, Blockit, Run (for start of Marathon track).

It's looking great. All the large signs are done. Obsi finished the Golf off. I added a "map" at the entrance to the arena (replacing the board listing all the events).

All we need to do is double check the chests for all events/apparatus and make sure each event has some sort of instructions on "how to play" (Blockit please Bazz).

I have also rotated the map rendering around 180 degrees so the TOGlympics sign is more readible, as are all the event signs (only "ROW" is a little covered).



Hopefully, I can finish it off tonight and reinstate Sanctuary.

Is there a way for a mod to spawn a sword with certain enchant such as knockback? I was able to make some the old fashion way of pick and guess enchanting but dispensers in fencings arent full, only couple swords.

We can spawn swords of any sort and gift xp, but we can't set enchantments. That I am afraid is a bit of trial and error.

I tidied up the circuitry in your archery Henri. I can see why you didn't find it easy. Two pistons next to each other up high aren't easy. I ended up having to use repeaters to turn them on and off, with a combination of torches and redstone to get up that high. I also dropped the pistons down a level and put wood planks on top of them as the rising platform. The outcome is that you can't see any circuitry any more.
