0x10c continues
Notch has returned to developing his "space game" - 0x10c (http://www.theoldergamers.com/forum/...ighlight=space for our previous discussions). He has redeveloped various components and has released a few details.
First here is a video of a test involving the physics of things like player movement and stairs and hanging objects, lighting and a ray-gun (pew pew!). He also developed a 3d projector that can be used by players and has given the "feature specs" of it in a similar style to previous technological objects. (SPED-3 - Pastebin.com) http://i.imgur.com/WC6LY.jpg And the DCPU-16 operating system and interface is still in the game (as you can see in the above picture). Sorontar |
Yay! :D
So glad this ball's rolling again.. Such an interesting and cool idea, looking forward to seeing this game develop. |
Notch managed to fix the lighting level for videos, and added in the holographic projector, the SPED-3.

Mackapar (Mackapär) that he calls the holo projector is essentially the same thing in Swedish as Mojang (Mojäng), so he's funny Notch :)
Funny or out of ideas... |

So it is a thingy made by Thingy in a game by Thingy. Go go Gadget 80s! Sorontar |
Things are looking better now. Multiple rooms and better external windows. The new textures are by eldrone, one of the new Mojang employees.
|
Lol. The official t-shirts have been released before the game has even reached alpha.

Thanks for the updates Sorontar :)
I thought Notch said in the past that 0x10c wouldnt use textures (ala Elite 2 style)... |
Notch has redesigned a bit of the basic physics in his recent work. I wouldn't take much of what he had said previously as canon.
