Have you tried clearing the whole thing out and downloading the launcher again?

Tried clearing out the folder, re-downloading, different folders, turned off windows firewall, changed server settings in FTB, deleted & recreated profile in launcher.

FTB launcher doesn't appear to be connecting to the net, won't login, doesn't download. But network is working fine, I can do anything else.

System is Win7 64bit, not that that should matter

This may be a silly question but

have u applied your minecraft profile and fully signed in? if it isnt properly connected you will not be able to launch .. if your FTB launcher says 'select profile' down the bottom right u are not signed in

You have to do this when u have completely re-installed FTB .. and its an easy thing to overlook

I have created the profile, (and deleted and recreated...) but it won't log in, when I click the launch button, it asks for the password, then sits there for a while while before it times out before saying:

"IO Exception, minecraft servers might be down. Check @ help.mojang.com"

As I said before, I can connect with vanilla minecraft, so I don't see it being a problem with mojang

[edit] also uninstalled/ and re downloaded/installed java

Have you converted your Minecraft account to a Mojang account yet?

EDIT: Of course, since you can log in to vanilla, I'm not sure this matters.

Since this happens with FTB and not vanilla, your best bet may be to try the FTB tech support site.

I always have to right click my launcher and run as administrator... you could give that a go?
