Default Using Minecraft for teaching English

I made this world to make the parts of speech a little more kinesthetic for my students. I'm just experimenting, but I think they will get a kick out of it, if nothing else.

Not a bad idea - but if I may be honest, seems a little...shoehorned? as in forced?
I understand where you are going, but I think if perhaps you had a second set of stairs as an example, it may push the message home a little better.

I do like the idea of using the wide appeal of something like MC, just not sure you have actually hit the right delivery.

Dont mean to be rude in anyway - aiming for constructive!

Cheers,

Bazz.

I have 4 in the series now at Lessons From the Classroom

They are not meant for a spring board into the process. This is something I drive home in my classroom every day for 10 minutes. I just started the videos to make it a little more concrete. In the classroom, they take apart lines from novels/poems and diagram them. Then, when they have all the parts segmented, they have to make their own writings based on the syntax and the structure of the piece they diagrammed. This just makes it a little more visual.

I don't get to use youtube in the school, so I just show them from my computer, but I put them online so students can see them if they miss a day or two.

Ah! - my bad, assumed it was a stand alone thing.
As an aid or reinforcment tool, it's excellent - great way to increase engagement - nice one

Naw, you were right about being convoluted for anyone watching it stand-alone. If I want anyone else to watch it, I need a pre-video of some sort.

What I want to do next is create little adventures for the kids to actually play. Unfortunately, I only have my laptop in the classroom and 1 minecraft account. I do have a nice lcd projector, and I plan to have teams have members play in a booby-trapped world where they have to decode things like in the videos. I need to figure out how to make worlds with unbreakable rocks, though.
