Thereis an IRC channel set up for Serenity if anyone is interested. The server is linked so that you will be able to log in to IRC when not in the game and chat with people logged in to the Minecraft server.
You can join the IRC channel with the following information:
IRC server: irc.dal.net
channel password: ytineres
Please feel free to check the NODE the server is one when any lag presents as it will give a real time status of any server host work or issues on our servers NODE so we can rule out the host etc etc
All about the Serenity....
CURRENT GUIDELINES (subject to change if needed)
You will arrive at the server spawn and walk past the locker room and up the stairs to go outside into the world.
Once you're outside you will see the Spawn building is made up of a few different sections
The spawn Building contains the following
Ground Floor Middle section - Golem farms and community 'freebee' chests
First Floor Middle section - Enchantment Table, link book modifier, uncrafting table, Anvil (please inform us if this breaks so we can replace it )
Facing Spawn the staircase on the left leads to - Portal room, Nether and destination computer (thanks to Aveege)
Facing Spawn the staircase on the right leads to - Community Notice Board and locker room with a chest for all players to claim
Basement doors - one leads to the community matter fab and the other to the root cellar where you will find community supplies including overflows from many different mob spawners
There is no spawn city, just community buildings, feel free to put community building ideas forward at the regular server meetings or on the forums in the suggestions thread.
It is recommended that when you look for a place to call home in the overworld that you don't build to close to others. It is always safer to make sure you're at least 150 blocks away from a neighbor to ensure that any border clashes don't happen and lighting up the area you intend to use always acts as a good guide to any potential neighbors.
Additionally, we have a 'soft' border of no more than 3000. You won't get kicked back when you pass tho edge, but you will not fail to notice you've crossed it.
Spawn has loads of food and sugar cane for linking books, the server is on SURVIVAL and 'hard' so be careful.
There is a nether portal, twilight portal and a mining world; these are the only worlds that will be on the server. Please do not create additional worlds.
All worlds other than the Overworld (spawn) follow the no further than 2000 rule and the mining world is likely to be regenerated often so don't build a home there as it will be wiped with the world regeneration.
With the mining world so we know when to regenerate it we ask everyone to go straight out to the border of 2000 and work their way back into the center, this way we will know exactly when it is time to regenerate the world
The mining world is a mixed biome and has monsters so be careful
Due to the mining world being a purpose-built world which is not for bases we have no issue with large quarries and the bedrock is flat so it doesn't tend to have lag issues.
MINING LIMITS - accross all worlds
You can have up to a maximum of 3 units of mining (spread accross all worlds - not 3 per world)
2 Mining Turtles = 1 unit
1 Quarry = 1 unit
(e.g. you might have 2 quarries and 2 turtles (= 3 units) running at the same time)
Additionally Maximum Quarry size on the Overworld (spawn world) is Default 9 x9 and MUST be covered over with 2 layers and sign posted (unless it is under your own property.)
As an additional feature to Serenity we have 'death heads' - these are your head on a spike if you happen to die left at your place of demise - they will hold your inventory and you only need to make your way back to your death point and right click the head and your items are safe and sound and able to be retrieved
Please be aware on some rare occasions there has been no death head to retrieve so if you're planning on killing your character to obtain your head for fun, do so at your own risk
As always respecting other peoples property is a must - if you not sure your allowed to do something then you probably shouldn't be doing it - we have plenty of active ops on Serenity and in voice comms and its never much of a wait to ask someone any query you may have.

Just felt some of us who do not frequent things such as T/S were left out of the loop. Kinda hidden from us.
It's ok though, I understand.
One question though, you said default limit on quarries in overworld, what about mining world?

the only reason why the people who regularly use voice comms knew about it before others was because I created the server in the first place and I am always in voice comms
