For MadMax - The day of the Squids

I don't know what the deal was the other day, but there were squids EVERYWHERE!

My place is full of aqueduct sort of things, and there were squids popping up all over the place, even though they are 1 block deep and 1 block wide.... it was bizarre

King Squid, buggs out ontop of the complex... surveying the landscape

One squid plays in the water on the lower level, while one's just about to use the waterfalls as a waterslide...

Ohh, he's looking so sad, he's stuck out of the water :(

There were 3 squids here! hanging out in the water for my indoor garden! (water filtration perhaps?)

These 2 guys were doing laps I think.... (the one on the left is in the lead!)

Superman Squid...

... I didn't have the heart to kill them... until it just got too creepy with squids everywhere...

Woohoo, it's raining squids. :)

I lost some interest in my squidarium when their behaviour changed slightly(and rather oddly) and they started escaping and dying, as they can now move more blocks upward by the look of them, and I hadn't catered for it.

They should spawn more often.

Thanks obsi. :D

Obsi 8th August 2011 08:13 PM

It was - there were so many of them!

I also went to spawn and swam to my underwater house, and there were 2 squids that scared the hell out of me (it was night) they were swimming at the top of the water! (I thought they were spiders at first).... which is weird, normally they stay on the bottom.

Cool :)

Since the last update I have been rather surprised to step into my mob trap and pick up ink sacks. Seems like squids are spawning in the water in there. poor squids.

Obsi.. those are some pretty cool pics... You have got to post them to the internet... oh wait. You just did here. LOL

Thank for sharing those. So cool. I too was surprised the other day by about three squid in my water room in my house. Was a pretty neat thing. May not be able to catch many if not any fish in there, but at least the squid come visit sometimes.

"It's a bird!"
"No it's a plane!"
"No it's super-squid!"
...
"Wait what??"

MadMax 9th August 2011 09:17 AM

Had 2 squid appear in my spawn trap last night, and must have washed in from my water channels, not happened before you posted anything obsi, I think you have created a monster!

I started building a smallscale squidfarm under my storage room for them, and they just disappeared lol. D'oh! Oh and my squidarium now has a big fat zero number of squids. It is hereby now declared the local swimming pool.

the squids did go mad with spawning a few days ago, I found 3 in my puddle that is beside my sand/sandstone mine and some in the tunnel to the tog spawn when I was putting down the slabs.

great shots though, love hte super squid. maybe this is a new mob, the flying squid, on seeing you it becomes mad and attacks from ABOVE

Obsi 9th August 2011 12:48 PM

LOL Max, maybe the squids all fled your squidarium and swam wild and free throughout the rest of the world!
