A few pictures from my sub-basements.
Sub-basement 1: The farm.
The rest is currently one giant sub-basement, but I'm working on it. :)
The view from the top:
The view from the bottom:
Coming down the stairs. I found a naturally occuring underground lake that pokes in to my basement:
I've since changed the 'chairs' to wood, but here's a shot of the fine lakeside dining at Chez Irimar:
Love your farm, looks great! Thank you for sharing.
Sub-basement 1 is now the livestock pen:
Sadly, there was an accident. Apparently the fence caught fire, and when I came back from directing my lava flow where I wanted it, there was nothing left but roast chicken.
Sub-basement 2 is the farm now:
I have matched my water pillar with a lava pillar:
very nice mate, the fence can be replaced in 1.9 with a netherbrick fence, there fire proof!
I've made an addition to the sub-basements.
A cobblestone generator. I posted a picture of one I had made on the old survival server.
But what's this? This is new.
And safety rails?
Well, let's take a look.
I got tired of pressing the button. It suddenly occured to me to add a clock circuit. :D
I'm sure I'm not the first person who's thought of this, but it hadn't occured to me before. I'm quite happy with the result.
Now, I can just flip the lever and wait for the lane to fill up.
If you visit, do be careful. Try not to get caught between the wall and the advancing cobblestone column.
Damn I need to make one of those, Irimir, persmission to steal your design???
Since I cribbed the original block generator design from a YouTube video, I really don't think you need my permission. :D
I've played with the design quite a bit. You want your source blocks at least 3 blocks above the ground. You want them with only one block space between them. Of course, your streams need to be contained, at least at the bottom, so they don't go everywhere. Four repeaters set to max delay is what it took for the device to produce a block every cycle. Less and the piston is going too fast for the cobblestone to reliably form.
Hey - is it possible to stand at the end of the cobblestone line with a diamond pick and just keep digging it faster than it pops out? I guess the clock circuit could just be slowed to produce this effect - in fact, you could slow it to the point where any pick would be suitable.. just an alternative to waiting for the line to finish each time then mine then restart.. hmm.. I must also steal your design! :)
Actually, you can dig quite faster than it comes out. I usually let it fill once, and then dig in with it on and clear the line out from the source towards the wall. There's a gate at the far end so you don't get trapped, and you can just jump on top of the cobblestone column, anyway.
