Sword Of the New World Launch Today

SotNW launches today. If you have the old client it will patch. If not the download is available for free. There will be a $10 monthly fee which is quite reasonable for a new MMO. A few of us have been having a lot of fun with this game and would be happy to help any newcomers.
A quick synopsis: You start a family of toons and can play three at the same time. The game is set just after the time of gunpowder so you have musketeers and mages, elementalists, scouts and fighters to start with. As you progress there are quests to obtain unique toons that will join your family. The game is beautifully rendered and performance is flawless, even with scores of mobs and toons on the screen at the same time. Much of the game happens in the open world with some quest elements being done in instances. One feature that busy older gamers can appreciate is the auto defend feature which allows the player to set his three person team on auto attack and then go afk. (You cant loot of recover from a knock down though so be careful) The game also has some great pvp elements to include instanced point control, and killem' all type games. There are also guild vs guild declarations of war, and Royalist vs. Republican battles. Well... so until fall when I have more time and AOC comes out I think Sword will be it for me. Hope to see some people join us.

ok I downloaded it and have no idea whats goin on lol. Which server we on, Whats a good starting party and can we get a small beginners guide to the game Yukki? And what time zones we talkin about?

We're on the Cesario server. Any party is good just make sure you have a scout with out weapons so they can heal. In options uncheck auto defend. Keep doing quests and hunt missions so you can earn XP cards. My name in game is Bloodless.
This site should give you all the info you need. It's for Grande Espade but really the same game.

Well I am actually quite suprised by this game. I downloaded the 3GB files before the beta ended but never got around to actually installing it. Got bored of WoW on Saturday so I decided to give it a try. I tried a Fighter/Elementalist/Scout combo first up and after the steep learning curve with MCC started to liek the gameplay a lot. Got to level 14 or so I think before I read on the forums about autoheal . Was having a problems trying to heal and fight. After reading the forums I decided to switch servers to Cespario or whatever it is called. So I started again with a Wiz/Ele/Scout with the scout basically being a healbot. The MCC works well but I need some more practise and need to read some more info to find out about skills, buffs, equipment, etc

On the whole I like it. Gonna have to decide how much I like it if I wanna keep going with these toons past level 20. I haven't subscribed yet.

I started playing this, and found the chat being spammed with morons saying stupid, immature things...

I can handle it usually, but it just really annoyed me that it was my first time in the game and it's full of immature retard already...

Well if your on the Cesario server. (the one a few of us are on) you can join our squad and just stay in that channel. add Bloodless or Eyce

So I was sitting there in the first dungeon, Al Metza or something, had to kill some boss in the area but decided to go get some more caffiene. Stopped on the way back to see what was on the TV and then promptly sat there for too long and fell asleep. That was about 11:00 or so. Woke up this morning with the alarm at 6 and decided to check on my email. Surprisingly my team is still standing in the first room of this dungeon killing stuff and there are dialog boxes from Bloodless about invites and chats. So obviously this game doesn't log out you out for being AFK unless its a very looooooooooooooooooooooooooooong AFK timeout.

Anyway sorry to not answer your messages mate.

Well they put AFK leveling in so it would be a shame to not use it. I might offend the designers

Funny comment about chat FunkyJ I hardly ever see any chat. I was starting to think it was broken until someone asked me if I had seen the mini-boss. Which I replied no and within a couple minutes we was standing over my bloodied corpses. :P

Now I just need to find a new Sabre for Adelina. She still has the lvl 1 Sabre she starts with. Maybe I should just upgrade it to +4 and see what happens.
