Guild Wars - Beta Weekend

Here's some new info on the Beta Weekends starting this weekend.

When does the Beta Weekend Event begin?

The event will begin at 12:01 a.m. Pacific Saturday morning. It will end at Midnight Pacific on Sunday night.

When can I access or set up my Beta Weekend Event account?

You will be able to set up or access your account when the event opens, at 12:01 a.m. Pacific on Saturday, November 6th.

Will I be able to keep my character names?

All character names from the World Preview Event have been saved. If you participate in one of the first two Beta Weekend Events, your name will then be reserved into the release version of Guild Wars. If you do not participate in one of the first two Beta Weekend Events, the character names will be released for use by others.

Can I trade with someone to obtain a unique preorder item?

The unique item that is part of the preorder package is a customized item and therefore cannot be wielded by other characters.

I also have one "Friend Key" that can be used for one beta weekend. If anyone would like it for this weekend, let me know. I'll send it to the first person who responds to me via my email or message board instant message.

Just looked on Amazon.com for the "Guild Wars" Presale Disc & the following info is displayed - Availability: This item is not stocked or has been discontinued.

EB in Australia don't have a lising as yet, and we can't preorder through Amazon, do you have any other ideas for preordering, that would be prepared to ship to Oz??? Not that I'm keen or anything...

Liz is the winner of the Friend Key.

For the pre-orders, I know my local EB Games have plenty. I talked to a local salesperson and they said I could pick up a few for the price of the minimum deposit ($5 each). I would be happy to do this for any Aussie players. I should later be able to almagamate all my deposits into my game order.

The only glitch is, I'm a poor beggar. I won't have any money until next Thursday Aussie time. That let's out this weekend. Unless another North American is as generous as me!

AU$93 ... at dvdboxoffice.com you can get it for CA$67, which is about the same in AU$ ...

Admittedly you can't pre-order it (and get the key), but a $25 saving might be worth considering ... Given how well the AU$ is doing against the US$, might be worth getting GnR to buy copies for the aussies

For the preview week-ends, given the play times, with the time differences, it leaves us in Oz just about 24-30 hours of play (between sat. afternoon and sunday night AU time), and that's assuming you don't do much else that week-end ... oh well, I'll think about it - can we get back to you next week about that preview thing GnR?

hey gnr. my eb like totaly screwed me over with the preorder thing.
i preordered and they said they ran out and then next week they say that they never even got disks and the cd key is one the site im like WTF?!! so i cant play. think u can help me out
