Default Guild Wars vs Traditional MMORPGs

For those of you wondering about Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games (MMORPG) or the game Guild Wars in particular, I have prepared a little comparison chart between Star Wars Galaxies and Guild Wars.

Due to this site not currently having table support in the forums I've placed a link to my comparison here.

Realize I have not been in SWG for over a year and I have never seen the "Jump to Lightspeed" expansion. But I think the chart gives a little look at the overall differences between these two games.

I personally think Guild Wars is an excellent MMORPG for the beginner or people who have not found satisfaction in traditional MMORPGs. As Guild Wars has stated about itself, Guild Wars concentrates on the fun aspects of MMORPGs.

If anyone would like to send me the feature list as it relates to EQ2 and WoW I'd like to see it and will happily update my page.

Once I get in to EQ2 for a bit, I might help you with that...I think biggest difference with EQ2 and WoW is they are not linear, the goal is not to win the game, guild iPvP (EQ2), and they are not fighting games as it appears GW is...but again, I will have to get into game to give you an accurate assessment...

I would say the "No Housing" is only partially correct in that there is no private housing. There is the "Guild Hall" your guild can setup and use for members as a virtual club house.

Otherwise you appear to have shown the major differences.

Although I would add no ongoing fees to Guildwars. Both charge for expansions, so it isn't a point of difference.

As the guildwars makers say, there are millions of diablo players and only a few hundred thousand current EQ Players (ie. active subscribers) so the volume of money is different.

Couldn't agree more mate..

I will be definitely investing in the game when it's released ,also what makes it a lot more desirable for me is the no extra monthly fee..

Ok. I could be wrong but I went to the guild Hall and I only found it to be roaming area where you get ready for Guild challenges. Is there actually a place to store inventory items? That would be great if so, and would be the ideal place to help the Guild trade materials.

Also the no monthly fee is kind of a big deal. I'll add that to the differences.
