Yup, it's finally been hinted that Blizzard have realised that Warhammer is going to hand them their MMORPG market share spine when its released in mid-late 2008, and have made ready their "Plan B" to rake in the bizillions in subscription dollars.

Reading that press release, it doesn't really sound that much like a MMO. Good to hear about a big new game though.
I have reposted your links and the press release in The Shooting Range, since they are describing it as a FPS.

There's a compelling arguments for the new MMO to be the Diablo IP just as much as the Starcraft IP. I don't think it'll be a new IP, because part of the huge success of WoW was people's attraction and familiarity to an established lore. I guess we'll know soon enough...

Argh. Confusing. Just bring me more games!
Although, I could do with a bit less EA in the picture. I dislike many things they have done to a lot of games.

Starcraft has 3 races so would it be a la DAoC. And 40k has the extreme paranoid races who dont trust each other lol with a small exception. So should be interesting to see how this all plays out. At least they are not Medeival games
