Internode Games Network News: Star Trek Online development halted
Saw this on the front page just now. I can't say I'm surprised but still I'm upset, was really looking forward to it coming out  Hope someone else picks it up. (EDIT: Reading the thread on the STO forums it is thought that Cryptic *might* be picking it up) *Gets back to looking for more info* -M-

Hi Guys,
It's "Strike 2" on a Star Trek MMO game. The first time was when Paramount had offered it to SOE briefly. But they pulled it when they found out that SOE got the rights to do SWG from Lucas Arts. Perhaps the third time around is the charm.

Sadly this MMO is pretty much done with.
While the very first tech shots my Perpetual looked great, the 2 'in game' shots were highly stylized and gave Star Trek a 'WoW' look which pretty much killed it for me. There is rumon that Cryptic will pick it up, but honestly with how COH/COV turned out, I wouldn't have expected much anyway. |
