After dreaming about this and then pinching myself, I actually hope they go back to the roots of 40K with Rogue Trader. That universe while still very much army vs. army had more of a Hero Quest (forget what it is called now as someone else is writing material for it than GW) style to it. Or maybe more like Necromunda, where you had small gangs (also GorkaMorka for the ork in you). That would be pretty neat to have territories to attack and defend giving you special abilities but having a cap on how many you can have. Adding a sense of logistics in there as well would be a welcome addition.
Now I really hope they have both ground and space combat. Of course I doubt they would have fleet actions, but that would be really cool too. I would like some starfighter ships though and/or small privateer/merchant ships. A huge galaxy to explore as well. Of course I am still dreaming. ![]() |

I am sure they will continue to expand this with patches and addons so I see no reason why fleet can't play a part in it in the future. All I want is to be able to take to the battlefield with a chapter and see a Titan go strolling past

I don't think you want to be anywhere near a Titan when it walks past, but yeah, if they have the full range of 40k, then we are definitely in for a treat indeed. Honestly, I would love to be a gunner in a Titan. Ohhhhhhh yyyyeeeaaaahhhhh!!!!

If everyone can accept the fact that it'll be an RPG style game (I guess with gameplay similar to the old SWG) and that it'll have to be "dumbed down" to some extent to gain a reasonably main stream (and most importantly, large) player base, we should be OK...
As long as it's fun to play and I get to play in the WH40K universe, I'm willing to live with a bit of deviation from Games Workshop "gospel". By the way, what colour will my TOG Space Marine armour be, grey maybe...? ![]() .

I dunno, it just doesn't seem to lend itself to the game type. Maybe I'm just used to fantasy style MMOs. I mean how do you upgrade a space marine, do you move from scout armour to marine armour to terminator armour, or are they your classes?
Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see it, I just think it would have to be such a great leap from the established MMO mould. Innovation is great and I try to support innovative games, but MMO's are a cost intensive game to develop in the first place and to try something radically different is courting failure. As I said though I would love to see a go at Necromunda and I believe that it is more suited to the transition to MMO. |

I can think of a few ways, purity and honour seals, veteran badges all that alter your stats and effectiveness in combat. Moving from Scout to Marine to Squad leader to Apothacary to Chaplain etc as you progress, also allowing movement to Terminator armour at a certain level. Also leveling to new weapons as you gain skills, ie bolter and flamer as base weapons then plasma and missile launcher, then heavy weapons and better close combat weapons like power fists and chain swords/force weapons. You also have the grey nights and psykers to consider as well. I can see plenty of scope available to level up mate.

Oh my! Can I count the things I would want to see/play
1 - Space Marines (assualt terminator escpecially) 2 - Assassins 3 - Grey Knights 4 - Dreadnought!!!!! 5 - Land Raider/ BANEBLADE! 6 - and most of all...... Tyranids.
