Oh for a Mechwarrior MMORPG!

One of the things that has been sorely lacking in todays list of MMORPGs is a good old-fashioned Mechwarrior MMORPG. Surely somebody out there must be trying?

I've heard grumbles and mumbles about one but there hasn't been news for a long time. There's so many people that want a MechWarrior MMO, including me, that there's got to be someone with the actual ability to see it made who is working on it. There's so many ways they could go with a Mechwarrior mmo, the possibilities are fun to think about - which I swear I don't do just about all the time.

Yeah Mechwarrior would be a great mmo to create instead of medieval or fantasy mmo why not make a futuristic mmo like robots and mechs that could change the trend of mmos being created. am i right?

The only attempts i have seen was EA's ill fated Battletech 3025, and various mecha (japanese fighting robot) based ones. The problem as i see it is the license being sold with FASA to Microsoft, and the way the universe works would make you spend alot of time out of your mech, and mech's rare to come by.

actually there is a mechwarrior mmo coming...

when the battletech mmo was being cancelled, a group of fans wrote for permission to make their own non profit game, and actually got full permission to make it. They are doing a rough beta at the moment, with nothing but arena combat, but it's looking cool.

Is that the one you are talking about. These guys currently own the IP (intelectual property) for Battletech and Shadowrun, the two biggest FASA titles. if you know of another one, please post here. Ive seen the one being made by modders for Crysis engine

Its a good thing that their is a group that is starting to create a mechwarrior mmo. That sounds like it is not far away for us to experience playing an mmo mechwarrior.

I have been waiting , for a while, it was about a year ago I found the site for the mechwarrior living legends . I signed up for the news letter there, but I never seem to get one, but I do check every other week to see if anything new has happen.

From what I can gather, it's not going to be anything like a MMO where thousands can be playing on the same server, it looks like you either need to host a server or rent one.

I was hoping more of something where you log in your either choose clan or IS. and there would be thousands of others that have done the same , but it seems it looks like it'll be as before, you just find a server that has a slot open and hope your in before someone else beats you to it.

I'll still play it, no matter which way they go. heck after i found that site, I reinstalled MW4. found a Joystick and wondered why did I stop playing.
I preferred MW3 but that box is stashed in storage , and I am not going to pay $400 (I do not have) in fuel just to play a game.
I am hoping I can play the MW:LL just on keyboard, I had to use a Joystick for mw4.

well I am kinda confused about that, because when I read the forums at the website, they act as if it is . . but I suspect it's more like out in Beta. I had subscribed to the news letter, but never received one, but I login to the web site ever once in a while and read it then.

From what I gather , it is scheduled to come out in the fall
