Any SWG vets out there?

Hi people.

Was wondering, are there any old SWG pre-cu vets that read these boards?
If so what games you playing now? Did you ever find another mmo to fill the void that SWG left after SOE/LA fiasco that was the NGE?

Yes, I have a veteran (elder) Jedi on Scylla. Sometimes i pay a month again to walk around a bit, flashing my saber, (to satisfy my SWG hunger for what used to be). Still think it was one of the best MMO's out there.
When i walk around in there again.. i mostly feel lonely and miss my buddies (who i play with in WoW atm)..

Yup! I played from the beginning to right before the NGE. I went back a few months ago to see what its like but I couldn't bring myself to hang around.

I'm currently playing LoTRO and I'm loving every second of it. Also looking forward to Stargate Worlds.

Yup, I was in SWG during their closed beta days all the way after the expansion "Jump to Lightspeed" (including the closed beta for it) expansion debuted. This was before my TOG days when i was on the "Starsider" server with the guild called "Galactic Union". We had a multi-guild player town called "Elysium" on Corellia.

SWG was the only MMORPG where i spent nearly a year subscribed to it and actively involved.

Since my days long ago of departing SWG I've been like a gypsy when it comes to MMO's and now FPS multiplayer game titles. When EQII came around is when i joined TOG for the first time. Since that time I've been in with TOG for: Planetside, Battlefield 2, Battlefield 2142, Eve Online, Vanguard, Voyage Century Online, Tabula Rasa, Pirates of the Burning Seas.

Nowadays i'm in Call of Duty 4 and doing some single player Mass Effect & Bioshock on the side for the PC. Awaiting likewise for "Stargate Worlds" closed beta invitation.

Great thing about "The Older Gamers" is you can depart from a game division, but not from the overall game community.

played SWG just after release for about two years, but left after a time after the NGE was released which seemed to take away what i really enjoyed of the game and the freedom of profession mixing (not to mention the tide of Jedi who kept clogging up the cantinas ).

I returned on and off between various MMO's, most recently around christmas last year. They are starting to pile a few more things into the game in regular patches but, although probably quite good compared with other MMO's out there, it has lost a lot of it's charm in it's changing imo.

My character was a master Pikeman/Smuggler who had dabbled in many careers including medic, armoursmith and others but alas had to lose the Pikeman status post NGE to just smuggler.

Played SWG from August-December 2003 and September-November 2004. Was great fun the first round, less so the second round. Had a character that tried out a few professions and then settled on Ranger/Creature Handler.

Played a number of MMORPGs after that, including trying out NGE. I have not explicitly tried to find an SWG replacement, rather just play those I find enjoyable right now. Today this is mainly City of Villains/Heroes.

I played from about 2 years. I started about a month before the PA's. Came back just after NGE when they offered 1 month free. I was on valcyn and it felt like a ghost town. When I started i was in CDF until it died then when i came back for the free month I joined TOG. I remembered raiding MOS TOG in the early days.

I now play WoW on Runetotem with Titans of Glory and Titans of Gore.

I was on the Valcyn server and a member of CDF, too. I started the day the game came online and played for 7 or 8 months.

I was a resource specialist (Master Ranger by trade), went by the name of Mem. What was your ingame name?
