Default Stargate Worlds - Questions for the dev team

No promises here but since Cheyenne Mountain seems to be very willing to talk to people about their game, I wanted to gather a list of questions from our community and see if I can get someone to answer them for us.

Anyone have something they want to know that's not covered here?

Honestly at this point everything I can think of won't be answered due to the NDA.
Most of the game mechanics stuff that they will talk about at this stage is covered in the SGW Wiki, and everything else gets a wait and see response.
So little is actually known, I don't even know what questions I would ask if they were answering them, hehe.

To be honest I'd prefer we didn't do that or just ask them ourselves at this stage.

On the other hand, if you want to try and organise an interview which we'll post on the main TOG page, that's a different thing entirely.

Yup, that was my intention.

Oss is probably right about game specifics but its possible that if we asked questions (even ones that were covered in the Wiki) we might get an updated or more in-depth answer.

We've got plenty of time though.

Hi Arep,

Great idea, thanks for following this up as our TOG Journalist.

I'm sorta of the same opinion as Oss. If i do ask a question i'm not sure if it has been covered elsewhere in there litany of past interviews.

However i'll make an effort with these questions and not data-mining the SGW Wiki, lol.

1) Will there be a round of closed beta invites just for "Commands" (Guilds) before the general population gets invited?

2) What sort of game features will be available at game launch for Commands to utilize? (IE guild tags, chat channels, Command bank)

3) Besides general grouping and Command game structures will there be any sort of faction grouping? (akin to realm versus realm Pve or Pvp)

I'll leave it at that, until i get more familiar with the game.

Going to throw out a couple of my own:

Why did you choose that specific time period to base the game on?

How many of the original cast has expressed interest in either helping with or playing the game?

Do you have any plans for live events once the game launches such as attacks on Stargate Command that have to be fought off by players?

Now you guys are coming up with some awesome questions. The guild stuff I am curious about too.
Maybe ask if they are planning on putting a cap on the total number of toons in a guild.

I hope they answer yes to the live events question, Arep. Those were always so much fun in SWG. Laggy but tons of fun.

Looking over the SGW Wiki that Arep linked to originally.

It seems Oss that Commands (Guilds) will be limited to 200 character toons (not just players).

Also my question #2 i asked above seems out of commission likewise, since much of it has been answered in the Wiki "Command" category.

Command's will have chat channels for Command leaders, officer's, and private chat channel's. It says guild "banks" have been talked about frequently. With no Guild Structures at retail launch at least.

There will be "Alliances" (as in to help build mother ships in Elder game play) between multiple guilds which sorta answers my question #3 above.
