Some more footage from the team at Ten Ton Hammer | Taking You to the Next Level! - Massively Multiplayer Online Game Info for you to see. This one zooms in and out as the guys play the game (Lucia: the lucien alliance home world which you may have seen in previous videos) and comments on how some of the mechanics in the game work, and mention some abilities.
STEALTH! Yes that's right, there are stealth units that go 'invisible' on the screen and can be used to sneak up behind and flank enemy units. It was put to good use as the up front warrior type drew fire, and then the stealther began blasting them from behind where they weren't covered in the video. They also commented abilities like healing, which it was suggested would be more of an 'after combat' thing, than something you use in combat as is typical with many other mmorpgs. Suppressing Fire is another ability, which can force a target to keep their head down and not fire at you. A good soloing tactic to temporarly "crowd control" one guy while you focus on taking out his buddies. Focus bars are apparently like a shield, with your hp dropping down fast after they run out, there are focus heals which were used here and in previous video's (in combat). You can also regenerate it by retreating, or ducking your head. Grenades were also mentioned near the end. Various types, useful for tossing at places to force the enemy out from their cover. NPC's also have the same cover dynamic, aswell as multiple AI tendencies; some are naturally more aggressive and will pursue you while others like to sit back and camp from cover. Thanks Reoh for keeping those game videos coming.
![]() During that walk-through one of the dev's i think Craig Fuller (Creative Director) dies in-game. I had read when a player dies from combat they reappear at a medical tent like if they had passed out or something. The "Cover Meter" also showcased green as the best color coded form of cover in combat. With Yellow being the second and in the other video from Mmorpg.com they showed Orange as the worst. So I'm wondering if there's only 3 color tones for cover or if there's more than that number? PS: Reoh, whats your SGW forum name? So i can add you to our roster over in the TOG SGW Command roster. Thanks. ![]() Last edited by Atrayo; 30th July 2008 at 03:01 PM. |

You're welcome Atrayo! I haven't actually signed up for the forum yet, just the beta (from what I understand they're different yes?). Another thing I noticed about the "Cover Meter" was that the direction and amount the cover wraps around you is displayed as well as the colours Atrayo mentions. If you watch carefully sometimes the bar is in front, or to the side, etc... longer and shorter.

Hello Reoh,
Quote:
Well if you reconsider Reoh please let us know, although your already partially added to the roster as is, lol! -------------------- In that video you linked when it shows the yellow color cover on the meter. It showed it skewing to the center right at 12 o'clock all the way to 5 o'clock on the meter, more or less. So what your saying the angle of coverage is displayed in the circular cover meter. |
