Think this is new, not sure but here it is. Talking about how the AI's may spawn with different personalities (some aggressive, others tentative, and in between). He mentions that some types of mob (eg: Jaffa) may be more aggressive than others based on their heritage etc.

It seems this clip of game footage came out on August 6th. Since that's when the comments began from the Mmorpg.com users.
When the game dev started talking about the Mob AI i started to have flash backs from SWG (pre-NGE). Where i remembered seeing npcs of either Imperial or Rebel factions duking it out independent of any players being around them. Sometimes it was so inviting i would get off my speeder bike and join in the mini-skirmish. So I'm wondering in SGW will faction friendly npc's aid you if they're nearby if one is combat? (maybe a question for Arep's potential Q&A with the CME dev's) ![]() |

From that vid I can tell crouching behind an object provides you some cover and I also noticed a guy on other side of the round bunker was crouching up and down quickly and still shooting. That makes me think he was exploiting...testing, a flawed feature there. Not good to see some one crouching up and down like that in a promo video
Oh sorry, I forgot to say, I can't freakin wait for this game!!!

Corpeces, I think that was an NPC on the other side. I think thats a quirk though, you don't really want NPCs to use the same barricade for cover really do you? Looked really odd to me the way they kept doing that.

Do I want them to? No. But should they if the situation requires it? They should. The one of few outstanding features in Tabula Rasa was NPCs using cover, even on other side of the same tree that I’m standing in front of. TB had many great features, it was just boring content. I am glad TB paved the way for future shooter MMOs and I think with what TB did, what SGW will bring and some future games ahead of us, we will some day have an MMO with an amazing AI. Personally, I can't wait to play that game one day.

Yeah but the way they did it was odd, I mean. They're behind fairly good cover and not too far away. They break cover, run at you then stand on the other side shooting at you from a metre away, not exactly trying to force you out but using it as another piece of cover to duck behind and back and forth, it all just seemed very odd. Now I'll admit I've never been in a real firefight to know if that sort of thing happens or not but it did seem kinda wierd. Now if it had been a flanking manouvre, that would've made a lot more sense.
