Hello everyone, i feel a little bad to have to start this since i am a very young member of the TOG but i am just throwing this out up in the air for discussion.
i have done a search and all FFXI related threads are pretty outdated with only 1 thread having a recent post in April 2008. I am still very much in love with this game and have returned to this game despite numerous bouts of hiatus and i am feeling the pangs to return to Vana'diel again in September. My server is Ragnarok and am a Galka Paladin @ level 63 (real loser considering i have been playing since the NA launch in 2004) I realised that there probably might be some members of TOG who are still playing this game albeit scattered across servers. I am proposing for members of TOG to either: 1) Migrate to a server where majority of the TOG-ers are at and then either join an existing guild / link shell which the TOG-ers are in OR Form a TOG guild / LS there 2) Remain at your individual servers and recommend the guild / LS which you are in so that other TOG-ers can consider joining 3) Form a TOG guild @ your server I am perfectly fine with migrating servers or even create a new character on another server as all my friends have more or less left the game. So how is it, fellow members of TOG? |

It has been pretty quiet so i am uncertain if fellow TOG-ers who might still be playing would respond. It is a pretty old game and although the graphics are stylised in the "traditional" Final Fantasy Japanese anime fashion, the resolution is pretty bad unless you tweak the registry (up to 2048 x 2048, more details here) and once you do, it is sweet because of the stylisation. Being Chinese and loving anime, it really attracts me even until today visually. The game mechanics have a very steep learning curve and since it is at least 5 years old (launched in Japan in 2003 and still its top 3 MMO), most of the existing player base are pretty seasoned players and it is very daunting for people recreating a new character and new players. However, because it has a steep learning curve, it is very rewarding once you master it although it does keep a lot of potential new players away.... ![]() |

There isn't a oriental bone in my body, but I love anime.
My only complaint is they don't show enough of it on Australian TV. ![]() This forum isn't the busiest and its possible that it will take a little while before the people you need happen to check through and notice it so hang in there. ![]() |

Here is one example of how gruelling FFXI can be although i feel that it is highly exaggerated. Anime is best. I watch it all the time. Can't live without it, the wife cannot understand why i prefer cartoons over reel human drama. I just tell her that i cannot understand her preference either and we both leave it at that. ![]() |

Recent studies have shown that the same part of the brain that interprets situations in the 'physical world' is used when watching television (and one might pose also anime). Therefore inside the mind there isn't that distinction!

FFXI would have been a good game for me to keep playing if it wasn't for all the botting and cheats going on.
Same for L2.
