Ryzom is Back!

For those of you who played Ryzom and loved the game, it's back. In testing and showing promise of return to it's former and soon improved glory. I'm 42 and I've found a very mature and accepting.

If you can't tell, I love this game. A vibrant world full of life, beautiful but dangerous. Tremendous battles between two cults over Outposts that provide minerals more valuable than anything else in this world. An open skill set that allows you to pursue the role of healer, defensive mage, offensive mage, artillery, or several forms of melee combat or a combination of all the above. Crafting disiplines to create intricate sets of armor, weapons, or tools to create those items. A fame system that brings title and standing. A close knit community who drop what they are doing to hdlp those friends and allies in need.

Dear Atysians,

Recently we opened the game to every single account for free and removed all restrictions on Unlimited Free Trial accounts making them truly "unlimited". Since then everyone who ever had an account and wasn't banned has been able to come and play and we've been very gratified to see so many people enjoying themselves on Atys.

Of course we've not failed to notice the large number of people who have just learnt about Ryzom recently and can't wait to sign up and join everyone else. The next step in our "testing phase" is for all these people; starting right now we have opened account creation for a limited number of free accounts! If you don't have a Ryzom account already, hurry and sign up; this will only be possible for a short time because there's a limited number of accounts to be created across all three communities! If you already play and know some people who don't then tell them to come sign up and join you absolutely free.

All accounts created during this stage will be able to access the entire game like everyone else, totally free. We're going to allow more free accounts in stages; what we mean by this is that first we'll allow a set number of new accounts to be made, and then one this limit is reached we'll wait a little while and allow some more, and so on. This means that you shouldn't worry if there are no accounts available when you try; keep coming back again later and maybe there'll be some more! Don't miss this opportunity to experience the wonderful planet Atys and everything it has to offer, because once the final limit is reached you won't be able to create an account in this stage. Remember that all old accounts are still able to connect and play for free as well, so if you ever had an account before; get to it!

Please note however, that we are still in a "testing phase" so you cannot reactivate old unsubscribed accounts yet. This means that your old accounts won't be able to access the forums or the CeB chat even though you can play the game normally. Ryzom was a really fun mmorpg that had several interesting twists. the world felt more 'alive' than any other I've played on (thats well over a dozen mmorpgs). For example, the land actually has herds of animals that travel across it. Mobs will react to you, some are inquisitive and will come up and peer at you, see what you're doing. If you act aggressively they'll move off away.

The crafting system was phenominal. Exactly what I want in a game, you learn patterns and you can put different components into parts of the pattern to change the various stat levels of the equipment. Even your skills can be crafted, you could make a nuke spell that only works at very short range but cost no sap (mana) to cast, and various other alterations like it.

I am assuming you are on Aristotle (or however they spell it). I have a Tryker, what race are you? Also, are you in an active guild there or soloing? What guild/race?

I couldn't really remember, I grabbed a trial of it and made a tryker shortly before the servers were flipped off. Haven't played it since, had no guild or anything just me and a friend trying it out.

I'm on Arispotle as Erom. I'm in a guild called "Team Spirit". It's an old guild that's been around since beta and about 1/3 of the original guild has come back (about 15).

Anyone is welcome to look me up. For those who are new to the game, fire me a private message. I still have an alt on the starter island and would be glad to help anyone through the starter missions.

I tested the game for a while too and I agree with everything you guys said. I think I quit playing because I found navigating around the game world to be a bit annoying and hard, once you leave the starting island.

i know nothing about this title but am downloading it as we speak. Looks interesting and may just prevent me from jumping into Waughh! before the bugs are ironed out.

Anybody playing on European servers?

Honestly in my opinion (from the noob zones) its one of the best mmorpgs I've played. It has a bunch of wonderful features I wish more games would adopt to make it feel realistic. There's also player generated content and missions, a whole pvp side of owning towers or something but I was never big enough for all that sort of stuff. Hope you enjoy and please give us your thoughts upon it.

I don't have Internet access at home till at least the 10th, so that is why I haven't been on. I do like this game, and the reason I left it was because of a personal issue with another player, so hopefully they are gone or don't remember me, it was awhile ago for sure.

I also have to remember how to play it as the controls are a bit different than what I am used to now. hehe
