TOG - The Older Gamers

I was cruising around the forums tonight and it occured to me that all the MMO's currently in TOG are fantasy based.

I hope we will be getting into something soon, I have nothing to play atm (I am bored with everything I have)

Anyone know what the best options coming in the near future are?

Jumpgate Evolution launches in a few months, Black Prophecy is another you could check out too, and lets not forget the new Star Wars: The Old Republic MMO. Then there's the post apocalyptic types which might count like Fallen Earth which is in closed beta testing atm, and I think there is another 1-2 similar to it as well.

Don't forget Champions Online which is launching "soon" and Star Trek Online which supposedly launched in the fall. (next spring more likely)

There's also APB (console only?) and The Agency coming down the pipe, though I haven't heard much about either recently. Oh, and Stargate Worlds which may or may not be doomed from the start. (see other thread)

There haven't been a lot of sci fi MMOs that were of recent exposure except Tabula Rasa which TOG was in. I played it for several months before I gave up on it. Also when Warhammer 40K MMO comes out, I am sure you will see a bunch of Toggers in there. I will.

From the look of things, we'll be having a whole lot of Scifi type of MMO's - something for everyone.

Now I just have to decide which ones to play

There was also talk of a Firefly/Serenity MMO, although it would be the universe and not really the ship's crew that would be the focus... not sure that will take off, but I'm piqued!

Oh yes, I heard something about that a while ago, just that it was being looked into and haven't heard anything since unfortunately.

Quick google shows up the first announcements around 2006, and a few more around 2008.

I know that Fallen Earth is a post apocalyptic type mmo currently in closed beta. Feel free to check their site and you can gather that its kinda like the Mad Max movies.....or Fallout 3 to some extant.

Due to NDA there though any toggers in the beta cant exactly come out and say yes I am in it and its like this and this and this.

There are a few sci-fi / futuristic mmo's currently in development that ive been keeping an eye on.
