Default Massive MO Update

Hi All,

This month's Mortal Online update is massive. Be sure to check it out and download the presentation.

I'd really encourage the crafting types to go take a look at this, it's too cool to miss.

Cheers,

Robert

wow .. hmm only draw back I have, it will be a P2P, and I still not able to play those games, but I liked what I read.
I was interested in this FAQ
Quote:
Q: Is this game for the casual or hardcore gamer?

A: With its deep game system, Mortal Online will probably be regarded as hardcore by many, but we hope that our hybrid skill advancement system and freedom to choose your own style of play will appeal to both casual and hardcore gamers. Mortal Online won’t require you to put hundreds of hours of game play to be able to join your more experienced friends or contribute to the game world. However, Mortal Online is not a point- and click game where only the stats of your character decides the outcome of a battle, and that may indeed be regarded as too hardcore for some.
I was wondering if the skill system (training/learning) is like the way it is on Eve Online

This sounds like a game I would play, since it is not based on Levels , (since there are none) but more towards skill

I believe some of the skills are Imfir but they will be secondary skills. All of the primary skills work like in UO where you must use the skill to gain in it. Something which sets it apart is that these skills dont take a month of grinding, rather you should be able to max out primary skills in a matter of weeks.

Hmm...

Using the term hardcore in their own FAQ sets off my "pretentious designer" warning bells.

I don't know what it is about this game, but everything I've heard about it carries an odd tone. I can't help but see some kind of abrasive sub-text telling me I'm not welcome to even try it because I wasn't a one of their cuddly Ultima bum-buddies or something.
