I'm thinking SimCity MMO here, lets hope they get it right. I had all sorts of problems with SimCity in recent editions. It was always crashing on me, which is sad because I really enjoyed building the cities (yes I know, I'm nerdy like that). Well here's the MMO variant, that lets you interconnect into a global economy with your city and business, all tied in with online social networking features. Will it sate my builders palate or leave me wanten for more? FYI - it also works in a single player mode if you prefer.

Heh...If you are a nerd, then I'm a charter member of that club. I loved the simcity games, but had the same problem you did with the crashing. The screenshots look almost intimidating, but I'm game for giving it a shot!

The game looks gorgeous, and I'm a SimCity fan too. But I can't see doing a subscription for it. Too many subscription games in the market right now.

Also, the name sucks. They really couldn't come up with something better than Cities XL? Really?

Yeah seriously. There needs to be a company doing a "station pass" type thing, but for non SOE games.

European versions are being released Sep3 according to a massively article today; no word yet on release dates around the rest of the world yet.

Out-freaking-standing! I'm so glad they're doing this. Cities XL will be playable both as a single player (similar to simcity4) experience, or the online (Which has a subscription). Thats a really great strategy, letting them hit multiple markets!
