Quick Patch and Update June 10th - Darkfall Forums
After 5 years out of gaming it seems to me, as explained by wiser heads than mine.
Currently in Beta bigger groups work out exploits. They expose some, but keep the undisclosed ones till release. Exploit it and then when word begins to leak, inform the Game Developers to prevent others getting the same benefit. So far AV's community responsiveness, and ability to come up with fair changes, like converting bunny-hopping to a skill that needs to be raised: displays a "non-nerf but enhance fairness" approach. A talented board warrior could probably identify which major groupings do this fairly easily. As this pattern would be obvious by the speed of character development upon release.
A good barometer in this game has been the development of our own amazing Bravo Wulf as a crafter so far.
Surely the process mirrors some Operating systems design and release and patching.
The only real danger this game has is is its own community defeating itself IMHO but learnt from others, and definitely the view of many journalists and players that have given up. But my crystal ball broke years ago.
I just know it gets the heart pounding, and you're hoping the bosses plan is a good one.
"One day a Rooster, the next a Feather-Duster" best describes this game. The nice bit is if your character is skilled up, it doesn't matter. If you are new and unskilled, the crafting system builds stronger characters, so long as you go with mates, it doesn't matter your skill, depending on what everyone is doing you can join in.
It will be as successful as it will, the NA release will determine its fate.
This view is now outdated:
FPS guys do really well in this thing because the majority of good players grew up on a diet of Doom and Wolfenstein etc.

Conclusion
In my beta review, I recommended that most people should probably hold off before buying the game until they worked out some of the kinks. Is now the time to jump in? I can say it is a lot better now than it was in the beta, and the frequency and changes in the patches we have been getting makes me think that this game is going to be getting better on a weekly basis. I'd recommend that if you are on the fence, that you should keep an eye on the weekly patch notes. It is by no means as polished as some of the so called AAA MMO's in recent memory,

but at 60 days in Warhammer, my guild had one foot out the door, and here it looks so far to be going pretty well. The irony is that despite its flaws, Darkfall performs better than Warhammer Online did with massive amount of people on the screen engaged in PvP.

Other than that, I hope Aventurine will continue to add some more soloable PvE spawns and work out some of the issues with the siege mechanic loopholes. I am also hoping I will also get a chance to write again about the War Hulks many of you have been asking about sometime in the foreseeable future.

And for balance...

Most of my friends are ex-Carebear players and semi-serious PvP players that have jumped in and are loving it.
