I signed up for the beta. It looks interesting.

Interesting having an offline "career", making it acutally more profitable logging off from time to time :P

that is a cool feature and I would like to see how that is implemented. It could be very similar to EVE in how you train your character. I have a lot of MMOs on my radar that I want to give a try, and this is certainly one of them.

I've added this to the list, thanks Flint! :)

[edit]

There's a new "state of the game" that was released.

So, the way I think they are doing it, from the interviews and whatnot I have read, it isn't really like the offline skill training of EVE. It is actually a separate advancement line... call it your day job. You advance in your "job" while offline, earning money and other perks for your character, which then help you with your adventuring or whatnot.

Its the clark kent your our superman adventures ;)

So your character has a second life account? hahahaha :D

brohawk 21st June 2009 11:29 PM

well because the character during offline for us is doing a 'real job', I liken it to EVE's character training because to me 'work' is easier than going to 'college', depending on what you are studying of course. :)

Fair enough brohawk. My point is only that while in EvE you train your own character skills, while in earthrise it appears you will have a completely distinct second set of skills/progression/whatever which you raise only while offline. But yes, offline benefit was coined in EvE, and I do see it as a welcome addition, particularly for us TOG types who cant play 24x7 :)
