Some good information in these links about Darkfall and the progress of the game and where it is heading in the future. Mem has been doing a great job at finding the good links with excellent information for others to review and really get an idea of what to expect in DFO.

A few notes on what he has provided here. First, since the video has been published showing the PvP action they have done a patch that is not allowing jumping and shooting anymore. So the whole bunny hop attack is gone now and that is a good thing because as you could see from the last video it was a shame in that you could run away and jump, turn, fire, and keeping running with little effect to you.

Next for all who have been on the fence about Darkfall and if the game takes a fair amount of skill. OK yeah this game requires skill and a commitment to be truely successful in the game. But if you are a more casual player and only looking to play a little here and there this game is still a great deal of fun for you too. The people who put in the time and effort to really grind their character out do have an advantage over other players but with the new server getting ready to come online there will be a change in that it is going to take these players more time or they will have to wait for transfers and expect whatever restrictions the devs place on them.

Anyway continue to check here and in the division for more information as to what is coming but for anyone who truly enjoys PvP then you should really consider trying out Darkfall.

The NA-1 server is going live on July 7th so I hope to see some new guys stopping by the division in coming days.

However the Free Major Expansion Pack has meant a postponement of one week.

This expansion looks great and really adds a new dimension to an already fascinating and absorbing game. The expansion should go live about GMT 12:00 7 July. Those wanting to play on EU server, nows the time to join our growing EU based guild. Please note, if you buy the game today you will only be able to play on the EU server. Players may only play on one server per account, so if you want to play on the new NA server, you will need to cool your heels for another week or so until that game client becomes available. You cannot play on both servers with the one account.

Reviews are the reviewers' PERSONAL opinion. I've done my fair share of reviewing a few years back and the company I worked for would try and allocate reviews to people who liked that genre, not to try and get favourable reviews, but as someone who loves FPS and hates driving games why on earth would you want me to review Gran Turismo, but give Halo to someone else?? The odds are both of the reviewers in this case play MMOs and enjoy them, so they got the review.

Just because you like a game doesn't mean that a reviewer does, if the reviewer hates the game (Both Eurogamer reviewers clearly didn't like Darkfall at all) you can hardly expect a good review, it's why you should read several reviews, and after that take it with a pinch of salt.

Like a lot of stuff on this site you are reading personal opinion, reviewers try to remain objective, because if they don't there is a risk of not getting work in the future. Having read both reviews I don't see a problem with either, the only issue I have with the first is it feels like he was playing, got frustrated with a game he hated, logged out and immediately wrote the review, rather than waiting 24/48 hours to let the pain of his latest play session to become a dull ache. The second review is impeccable. Neither liked the game, if you do great, but don't bother trying to say that because you like the game and X person doesn't that somehow your opinion is worth more than theirs.

My opinion for what its worth. (A few photons)

The game is a 6.5 atm, and can be really addictive with the right company. The community is a bit rabid sometimes. The TOG members uphold a great tradition of being the nice guys and dolls of gaming, firm but fair. The grind will discourage the wider audience of less commited players.
