Smaller Installs coming to a HDD near you

A couple companies have already signed up for a new texturing technology that will provide stunning quality textures with minimal requirements for space on your HDD. The technology uses procedural generation to iterate itself into creating the textures which requires much less space on the hard drive; although one would think it would raise the system requirements to play at a comfortable level.

Funcom and Stray Bullet license Allegorithmic's Substance Air platform for their MMOs - Massively

Funcom and Stray Bullet were the first to jump on board that we're aware of. Currently in development by funcom (anarchy online, age of conan) is their secret world project. Stray Bullet may be better recognised with their work developing Shadowbane.

well i guess its really a good idea if all mmorpg out there is in smaller size, so that there will be no need to upgradeto any higher ram, lol ^^

well anyway i doubt this one, if it is small in size of the client would be not that good = less good graphics and most of all less in-game features

Funcom certainly need this, their Age of Conan client was seriously bloated.
