Anybody excited about this game?
It's still in the Beta stages but it looks really promising

It has the play and look of jump gate evolution but Much better graphics imo AND
it has the ability to go FIRST person view!! YAY..

Also it is backed by an actual SF writer and what I can gather it looks like my kind of story..
geared toward play not click and wait.. customizable ships by giving you the ability to choose everything yourself with a module system and those modules can be further customized with smaller something rather thingy's..

Anyhow.. Anybody had a look and is as excited as I am?!?

Yes I have been watching it, not a lot of info yet though. Eve is getting old for me, wouldnt mind another sci-fi space game. I am sold so far on Mortal Online if they can ever get the beta going :P

This would be nothing like EVE though.. as I have been on the lookout for a game similar to freelancer, ever since I finished the whole modded SP campaign..
controlling your own ships every move..

yeah looks good too Mortal Online, I really liked the first person fighting from Oblivion..
and looks like this would be similar from a quick glance at their site..

Yea an Oblivion type game world sandbox MMO that plays a lot like UO of old but much improved.
Will be in first block of beta as soon as they get it up for DL, course I wont be able to post anything on it till NDA is lifted

FYI - JGE should also have its cockpit views ready for launch.

What I like about BP is that they've confirmed you'll be able to walk around stations (in a post-launch patch) and that modules you use on your ship actually have a visual representation (a little like armor in fantasy games).

I thought it might exist but was too lazy to go look for it

JGE have cockpit view too now? That would make it more attractive to me..
But the graphics seem to lack from BP..

JGE have opted for a old tech graphics that keeps the system req's down and lets them pile in lots. For what they're using it looks really good, but BP definately has them on making the game look 'realistic'. Different styles for different people, I like them both a lot. There most recent interview mentioned they would have cockpit views in time for launch.

Being the lazy sod I am, I made a thread that was stickied with all the up and coming mmorpg threads being discussed here to make it easier to find them and read/post new news.

But then again BP seems worth of 2 threads

Yeah the arcade style look of JGE put me off.. and the fact it didn't have cockpit view made it even worse (the deal breaker actually)..
(I'm very particular with my games.. partly due that I don't have much time to actually play them)

I thought it was funny that for a long time JGE had third-person views with ships that didn't change look when you modified them, while BP had ships that changed but you had cockpit views so you'd never notice on your own. lol

ahh but you would peek every now and again..
knowing how cool your ship looks, you parade around like a rooster..ehr fly

I did that with Oblivion.. I modded the hell out of it though, but I would take the time to have a look at myself how cool I looked in this or that armor.
(I actually felt a bit like girls doing dress-ups with their barbies , though in my defense I did make my own armors at one stage)
