a picture paints a thousand words...

The term care bear is thrown about quite a lot these days, unfortunately it has descended into the dark pit of negative words. I stand here among you PvPers and say, I am a care bear! In MMOs I’ve never really done anything remotely to do with PvP, aside from the occasional duel. I am much more of a PvEer, but I don’t think this means I’m not intelligent, intuitive or sociable.

Crafty Carebears rule !
A number seem to want to do Crafty type behavior in a Carebear way and not be real worried about servers and things. to others its really important to get to end game fast. The picture shows one way of thinking about the issue. You need numbers, even if they just lob a few arrows around and die and create straw men to distract the enemy from your better PvP groups in large fights.
And the Zerg is still the most powerful way to play games, isn't it ? Raising the standard in PvP of those who maybe aren't as good, or well coordinated in a group ? Either because they have different goals. Or maybe they are older and cant type real well, but they have other talents and make their own fun.
A lot of TOG only get an hour or two a day if that, so for them its about just having a large group to play with that know a game well enough that they feel they are happy to stick their hand in their pocket for membership. In game loot is not real dollars.
Emodian

Definitely. (sorry about the sneaky backhanded paid membership plug)
There are many benefits to sticking your hand in your pocket. They won't suit all. But considering them if you haven't already is easy.
TOG do great things from time to time for their members, for no good reason other than they are mates. This bushfire story is what made me stick my hand in my pocket. I'll share it so that maybe it will resound with you too. (I live in a bushfire prone area) I can assure you, the feeling after the terrible fires in Victoria was eased for this TOGger by his mates. You can tell by the gratitude.
Games come and go, servers , races, discussions. But a caring audience is a paying one imho. I think a zerg of paying care-bears is ok with me any day to play with. You never know. My family might get burnt out.
