I like Guild Wars for what it is. The only two turn-offs for me are the instancing and the lack of diverse gear/items. The story, combat, and skill system are all top notch.

In fact, I was going to fool about with it again this weekend, but it no longer shows up on any of my accounts for some reason. It's probably for the best, as I'd wind up springing for the trilogy and Eye Of The North just to see what was "new" with it. I only played the original when it first came out.

Guild Wars 2 looks like it will do away with the instancing, which will go a long way with me. They're also adding more loot variety, a crafting system, and some different PvP options other than arena-based PvP.

If they add all this whilst retaining everything else, it will be the best MMO ever created in my book, in which case I hope they add a subscription model too, just to keep some of the undesirables out.
