What Really Grinds My Gears!

What really grinds my gears... are seeing the tiny little penned in zones that are available in MMO's today. when I think of the vast worlds like Asheron's Call (launched in 1999, last millenium!) and how you could wander for hours through the wilderness without seeing anyone (unless you went to the really popular hot spots); I really miss that feeling of being in a massive world. now you're penned in by level in a linear progression to the endgame; until an xpac launches and gives you some more.

What also really grinds my gears... is when level plays such a factor in games that being higher/lower gives massive damage modifiers. back in the day a higher level just meant a tougher fight with more reward, but if your skills were up to the challenge it was perfectly do-able!

what really grinds my gear is every time my guild mates win the hall of heroes, they keep getting uber rare drops and what not. every time i win in the hall of heroes, i just about ALWAYS get a dodgy flame of balthazar or a celestial sigil!
its absolutely BS especially because i win it more often than them so statistically, i should be getting better drops!!!

this is guild wars im talking about.... so pissed off im almost ready to quit....

yes it allowed griefing but since you had to pay for the handcuffs people didn't do that randomly. I like your system better though

lol griefing is funny. someone did it to one of my alts in WoW when i was just happily farming away... they were no longer saying "suck on that noob!" when my lvl70 mage decided to melt their faces off =]

stopped playing WoW though, monthly fee just wasnt worth it once i started work and didnt have so much time to play it....

What really grinds my gears is when people ask me which games I played before and I answer : I mostly played free to play mmo's before. Then they answer me : aahh right, you played runescape ? That always makes me feel like I came from another planet. There really are a lot of good f2p mmo's out there !
What grinded my gears too was that time I had farmed for a whole week to drop this rare weapon for a friend of mine. The moment I finally dropped it there was a glitch and the weapon fell into the wall. I couldn't pick it up.

I mainly played the f2p MMO's aswell such as KAL online, anarchy online, rose online, and a few others i cant remember haha.

And yes I did play Runescape I was like a member for 6 months

yes I dropped two of these weapons after an other week of farming, then we sort of broke them while trying to upgrade them a lot... it was on rose online, in the temple on the snowplanet Luna remember ?

oh yeah haha geez that sucks. Me and two of my mates played it then dropped it when it became monthly subscription ages ago then picked it up again and then i dont know what happened..we just stopped playing
