Just thought I'd raise this up again. Some Older Gamers may enjoy this, while others will likely have children that might. As Vulcan21 pointed out the beta sign up has begun.

I know my kids will be wanting this one. And I'll probably be getting an account for myself also to play with them.
Presuming when the time gets closer and depending on demand there might be a TOG guild (not sure on in game guild systems) but was also wondering how many of you have kids (probably the 8-12 scale) who you are likely to introduce to this and expect it to be a hit with? Anyone found any information outside the CES videos? (excluding beta testers because you're not allowed to answer) Not seen anything significant beyond them and I've still got a lot of questions that these don't answer.

Also it seems priced rather high for what it appears to be.
I would have thought they would have made it more of a budget subscription or gone with some form of microtransaction system or something. At the moment they are pricing it as if it is some conventional AAA titled sub mmorpg.

Well for reference my daughter found Littlest pet shop online, a 2D web based game, while reasonably well aimed at the audience, nothing like the quality of your typical AAA MMO, they're asking $7 a month. For the quality I see in LEGO Universe I'd happily pay $10 per month while they were playing it regularly. Given the on again/off again nature of Kids, I think a pay per hour option would be welcome also.

There's quite a few good video's on the main web site that give you a taste of what the game is like.
If you're a fan of the lego game series (Star wars , Indiana Jones, Harry Potter) then i think you'll love Lego Universe and have a ton of fun playing it.  -roob |
