Ever get the desire to rumble across the battlefields of WWII in an armor clad tank, in a massively multiplayer game? Well you may soon get the chance. World of Tanks is granting you this opportunity, just announced but with a lot showing already; I'd expect this game due out sooner rather than later.

Been looking for a decent Tank game, particulally one set on the eastern front. Hopefully they do it to the same scale as WW2 Online - http://www.wwiionline.com. At least with the ground combat.

WW2 Online had, Massive Multiplayer (often 1500~2000 per side) wars with Tanks, Infantry, Artillary, Aircraft and Navy across a 1/2 scalle map of NE France, Low Countries and Western Germany. The game played as a massive multiplayer sim with realistic physics engine.

If a game can do similar, with the eastern front and better graphics that ww2online (and a better infantry model) then thats a game I could happily play for a long time.

Edit: Looking through the website, looks like Worl of Tanks is not goign to be that type of game, for one thing there are no nations, and you can even mix and match different countries tanks in your 'clan'. So for example you could have players on your 'side' in Panthers and T34's... which is kinda dumb.

I think the orcs in the trailer were just for a joke promo thing. Looks to be a tank orientated ww2 kinda mmo.

I must say it's a very wacky concept...trust those crazy Russians to come up with it. Mind you, there have been some really great games coming out of Eastern EU lately...I'll be keeping an eye out for this one.

Don't be confused. It's a game about tank battles. you control a tank (which can be upgraded between battles) and fighting in a team against other teams
